Why Give?

At Gallery Church, we believe that giving should come from an overflow of our hearts. All we have comes from God, and we joyfully present the first fruits of our labor, talents, and successes back to him as an expression of thankfulness for how He cares and provides for us.

We give because God has given so much to us, and we want to be faithful stewards of those blessings. We ask that you prayerfully consider how God is asking you to steward the resources given to you, and come prepared to share those resources with our community and our city. Here is a guided prayer we recite regularly to help with that discernment:

Generosity Prayer

Father in Heaven, there is nothing I have that You have not given me.
All I have and am belong to You, bought with the blood of Jesus Christ.
To spend everything on myself, and to give without sacrifice, is the way of the world that You cannot abide.
But generosity is the way of those who call Christ their Lord; who love Him with free hearts and serve Him with renewed minds.
Who withstand the delusion of riches that chokes the word; whose hearts are in your kingdom and not in the systems of the world.
I am determined to increase in generosity until it can be said that there is no needy person among us.
I am determined to be trustworthy with such a little thing as money that You may trust me with true riches.
Above all, I am determined to be generous because You, Father, are generous.
It is the delight of Your daughters and sons to share Your traits, and to show what You are like to all the world.

*Did you know that you can set up recurring giving through your online banking account and it will mail a check to the church offices for free?

For most banks, all you have to do is add the church into your bill pay system by adding the church name (Gallery Church) and the mailing address (P.O. Box 38538, Baltimore, MD 21231).  After you have created the “bill” you can then determine how much you want to pay and how often you want a check mailed. Most banks have instructions in the help section of their online banking page.

We do not pass an offering plate during our gatherings. We have wooden boxes in each of our Gatherings for you to leave your offerings, prayers, and any other questions you may have.

Our churches use Tithely to process our online and digital giving. By clicking the “Give” botton, you will have options to set up one time, or recurring payments via Credit Card or direct withdrawal from your bank account. Just select which of those options you want to use for payment in the bottom blue bar on the pop-up window. You even have the option to cover the processing fees.

The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7), not because the church’s needs are met, but because God’s heart is made glad when we depend on him to provide for us.
